Vision 2020 - Jan Updates

What an amazing start

February 7, 2020

It was great weather in Toronto this January. I wonder if this has anything to do with CK STEM's amazing start! We had put together our vision for 2020 on the first day of January for the entire year. Our incredible team of executives and volunteers are able to achieve most of the yearly goals in the first months itself. We are proud to share a quick update with our well-wishers and friends.

All our programs are fully enrolled and unfortunately, we have had to say no to some amazing parents and kids. We are planning to start many more programs in the near future and as such, are busy training trainers so that we can provide you with an incredible learning experience. As of now, we have almost 100 people enrolled in our various programs. We have many volunteers and parents joining our courses getting prepared to help us in the future.

Hosting math competitions this year was not originally included in our agenda. However, how can a Competitive Kids organization thrive without making its students participate in some real competitions? It is a stretch for us both from finance and resource perspective but our amazing team has taken this as a challenge to host our first set of math contests. We have very limited seats so please sign up ASAP to reserve your spot and avail this opportunity.

We would like to thank all volunteers and parents for trusting us and giving us an opportunity to try to enhance the education system through some innovative approaches. We are still in the early stages to claim success but we are encouraged by enthusiasm and response received from our participants.

Recently, I was coaching a high-intensity class with 20+ students on deep math concepts and after an hour I asked students if they wanted a break. I was stunned to hear that no one in the class wanted to interrupt their learning and requested me to continue with the class. How incredible! This is something that keeps all of us going at Competitive Kids, driving our passion and fueling our motivation.

I also had an opportunity to talk to a few underprivileged kids in a school in rural Texas. It reminded me of my childhood and motivated me to share the journey of my life. I would like to share the same with you in case you find it motivating for people around you. Thank you once again for the time you have taken reading through this blog.
