Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) is the most prestigious math contest in Canada for the high school students which leads to the selection for Canadian Math Olympiad (CMO). Over 5,000 students wrote the contest on October 28, 2021. Median score for this contest was 29/80.

CKSTEM is very proud to announce that a grade 5 student, Mark Raspopov, aced this contest as one of the top scorers. With a score of 66, Mark got a Silver award just behind the IMO winner of the last year in the Grade 8 category. Mark also got Gold awards in Ontario and Central Ontario. Mark is now invited to write the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad Qualifying Repêchage. In a nutshell, this amazing grade 5 student is among the top 80 students in Canada already. We can't wait to see him in CMO very soon. Congratulations Mark for this extraordinary achievement! 

We are also very excited to share that the 2 other students performed extremely well in COMC as well:

1. Ansh Agarwal (Grade 8 - Performance with Distinction) is very close to his CMO dream. We wish him all the best for 2022. 
2. Kavangun Kalra (Grade 8 - Performance with Honours) continues to raise the bar. We are also hoping to see him in CMO in 2022.
3. Arina Kurbatova (Grade 8 - Performance with Honours) continues to extremely well in the contests. We are also hoping to see her in CMO in 2022.)

We couldn’t have done this year’s contest without Ms. Jagroop. When COMC changed their plans at the last minute, she rescued us. Several students were still not able to participate but at least few got a chance. Thank you Ms. Jagroop for helping us. People like you keep us motivated to help others.
