MATH PROBLEM SOLVING ADVANCED PS2 - ELEMENTARY

*A year-long program for the advanced elementary students in grades 5/6 Starting 21*^{st }September 2022Complete Math Curriculum

This math curriculum is designed in a way that we wish we had when we were kids. It teaches kids how to think critically and understand the concepts behind the math calculations they’re performing. Engaging illustrations keep kids coming back for more, even as they grapple with some of the most rigorous math problems available anywhere.

INCLUDED COMPETITIONS

#### The name Competitive Kids STEM indicates our intention of preparing students for the contests. Considering this we are making it mandatory for our students to participate in math competitions. To simplify the process, we will cover the cost of the following contests for all our students as long as these contests are available online.

#### Mathematica Contest

#### Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary & Middle Schools (MOEMS) - 5 Tests spread over the course

#### Canadian Math Summer Contest (CMSC)

#### We are not limited to these contests. We will provide additional opportunities for the students to participate in the contests. High-performing students will be selected for the team contests such as Berkely Mini Math Tournament, Purple Comet etc.

## Program Highlights

#### Specially Designed to develop confidence in math

1**Engaging Curriculum**Using our well-developed curriculum, our wizards will become adept at solving challenging math problems. The curriculum is broken into 4 key parts:

- Core Concepts
- Applied Math to explain where these concepts apply in real-life
- Games & Puzzles to tickle Wizard's brain in a fun way
- Enrichment to learn problem-solving through some amazing techniques and tricks

Our assignments will include word problems, interactive puzzles, and skill drill games with detailed solutions.

2Problem Solving Techniques

Our key focus is on teaching problem-solving techniques by connecting the dots. We help kids in understanding the core concepts so that they can break down complex problems into smaller, solvable dots and we encourage them to make connections between these dots. This helps in building a foundation not only for advanced math and science but also for handling real-life problems.

3Challenging problems and puzzles

Our philosophy is to train kids by providing them with appropriate challenges to foster critical thinking. We assess students based on their skills (not on their school grades) so that we can help develop the right set of skills for them to succeed.

4Learn to compete

We have a team of highly experienced and award-winning teachers, engineers, technologists and HR experts coaching the students. We would like kids to excel through the real-life association of concepts being taught to them in the class. These selfless educators would like kids to express themselves at international platforms. We provide numerous opportunities for the students to compete nationally and internationally.
