Your journey

Two tracks. One pathway from Grade 3 forward.

Most CKSTEM students start in elementary and stay for 4+ years — building skill, depth, and ambition year over year. Math runs in lockstep with grade; English builds reading and writing in three levels alongside.

CKSTEM Curriculum

Built for student success.

We benchmarked the Ontario, BC, and Alberta math curricula against TIMO, HKIMO, AMC and CMO past papers, then built a curriculum that covers both. School marks go up. Contest medals follow.

Advanced parallel track

Middle School Explorer (MSE)

MSE is the advanced parallel track for grades 6–8 students who want olympiad-grade depth — proofs, combinatorics, number theory, and contest preparation reaching toward CMO, USAMO, and IMO. Designed to maximize exploration and minimize repetition.

MSE is selective. Download the entrance test, write detailed solutions to whatever you can solve, and email your PDF to info@ckstem.org by July 31. We're evaluating reasoning, not answer count.

Senior pathway

High School (MHS L1 & L2)

The senior courses cover AMC 10/12, CEMC contests, COMC, and CMO preparation. Taught by Cerasela Tesleanu, a seasoned educator who has coached hundreds of students through academic aspirations. Entrance tests assess readiness — write detailed solutions to demonstrate your reasoning.

What makes CKSTEM

Why families choose CKSTEM — and stay for years.

We bundle the contests

Every Math course bundles ~$400 of global contest entries — so families never pay separately for the proof of growth.

  • TIMO Heat & Final — fees waived for every CKSTEM math student.
  • HKIMO Heat — fees waived; top performers go to the global final.
  • Bebras, BBB, CNML — bundled and proctored in class where possible.

Most after-school math programs don't bundle contests at all.

Live classes, real instructors

Not a recorded course. Not 1:1 tutoring at private-tutor prices. Not an AI app. Real coaches who know your child's name by week 2.

  • 9–15 students per class — small enough for individual feedback every week.
  • 75–90 minute live sessions, weekly, with a named instructor.
  • Parents looped in — we text when a child misses class, and again when we see the breakthrough.

Live, accountable, and small enough that no one hides in the back row.

Curriculum benchmarked across boards

One curriculum that lifts both school marks and contest medals — built by people who write the contests themselves.

  • Provincial coverage — Ontario, BC, and Alberta math expectations all addressed.
  • Olympiad alignment — TIMO, HKIMO, AMC, and CMO past papers feed the practice bank.
  • 100K+ practice questions across 300+ tracked skills, leveled and adaptive.

School marks go up. Contest medals follow. Same curriculum.

What families say

Learn.Compete.Win.

Parents enroll for the curriculum. They stay because their child learns to face hard things, win on real stages, and treat setbacks as data — not defeat.

Math What are the goals of the Math Problem Solving courses?
Math Problem Solving courses focus on learning and applying problem-solving skills through engaging, contest-grade math problems. The courses encourage competitive thinking and effective communication. Our students consistently perform well over Canadian averages in national and international contests. All math courses include ~$400 of bundled contest entries: TIMO, HKIMO, Bebras, BBB, and the CNML.
Math Are the classes online or in-person?
All classes are conducted live online via Zoom — not recorded videos. This lets us serve students across Canada and internationally while maintaining small class sizes.
Math Do you take students outside Canada?
Yes. The Canadian Innovation Contests (CIC) are primarily for Canadian students, but international students are welcome in the courses and global olympiads.
Math How much time do I need for assignments?
Approximately 1–2 hours per week outside of class. The workload reinforces concepts without overwhelming students.
Math Can I attend a course higher or lower than my school grade?
Yes. Grades serve as a baseline, but we recognize that students develop at different paces. The expectation is that reasoning and problem-solving align with the class.
Math How many students are in a class?
9–15 students per class — small enough for individual attention every week.
Math What contests are included with a math course?
Bebras Computing: $20 fee waived for CKSTEM students.

TIMO (Thailand International Math Olympiad): $40 Heat Round fee waived.

BBB (Big Brains Battle): contest fees waived.

HKIMO (Hong Kong International Math Olympiad): contest fees waived.

CNML (Canadian National Math League): included for grades 6–8 in Feb and grades 3–5 in Apr.
Math How did CKSTEM students perform?
Our students consistently perform well above Canadian averages. Roughly 90% of our students earn a medal or recognition in at least one of the contests they participate in. One CKSTEM student has won a medal in the prestigious Canadian Math Olympiad (CMO). We are now setting our sights on the International Math Olympiad.
Math Do you support families with financial constraints?
CKSTEM is a non-profit organization. We are committed to keeping the Canadian Innovation Contests (CIC) free for all students. For courses, no student should miss the opportunity due to financial constraints. Please contact us in confidence — we provide bursaries based on family financial situation.
English What does the English Language & Communication (ELC) program cover?
ELC builds reading comprehension, writing craft, vocabulary, grammar mechanics, and critical thinking. We work on personal essays, persuasive writing, narrative craft, and contest-aligned creative writing leading toward the Canadian Innovation Writing Contest (CIWC).
English How do ELC 1, 2, and 3 differ?
ELC 1 is the foundation level — reading fluency, paragraph craft, vocabulary building. ELC 2 is the core level — multi-paragraph essays, persuasive writing, critical reading. ELC 3 is the senior level — competition-grade writing craft, advanced rhetoric, and CIWC preparation. Placement is by readiness, not strictly by grade.
English Can I attend the course if I am in a lower or higher grade?
Yes. Age is just a number. While the levels serve as a baseline, we recognize that all students develop at different paces. The expectation is that the reasoning skills, ability to comprehend passages, and communication skills align with other students in the class.
English How many students are in a class?
9–15 students per class — small enough that every student gets individual feedback on their writing every week.
English What does the weekly workload look like?
Live 75-minute weekly class plus approximately 1–2 hours of homework — typically a writing draft or a structured reading task. Instructors give written feedback on each piece.
English Will my child compete in writing contests?
Yes. ELC students enter the Canadian Innovation Writing Contest (CIWC), which CKSTEM designs and runs. ELC 3 students are also coached for school-board writing contests where applicable.
Pricing How do the discounts work?
Two stackable discounts apply to every payment plan — the more you stack, the more you save.

• 20% off — enroll by Jun 30, 2026
• 15% off — enroll by Jul 31, 2026

Family Discount (stacks on top of Early Bird):

Sibling rates and bursaries available — contact us in confidence.
Pricing Can I negotiate the course fees?
Our pricing is set once, in public, for everyone. CKSTEM is a non-profit; the fees fund instructor pay, contest entries, and platform costs — not margin. Use the Early Bird and Family Discount stack above instead of one-off negotiation, so every family gets the same deal.

If finances are a barrier, that's a different conversation and we want to have it. Email us in confidence — we offer bursaries and have never turned away a student who genuinely needed help.
