★ Leadership Awards ★

Character is the
first medal.

At CKSTEM, leadership is recognized by your habits, integrity, and effort — not by leaderboard position. Every month our instructors celebrate Leaders who quietly raise the bar.

CKSTEM Leader of the Month badge

What this award is

An award for who you are becoming —
not who you out-scored.

The CKSTEM Leadership Award is our highest recognition for an exemplary student. It isn't a contest medal. It isn't a leaderboard rank. It's an instructor saying, on the record, "this student is the kind of learner the rest of the class should follow."

  • Awarded by the instructor who teaches the student every week — not by an algorithm.
  • Based on habits observed in class, not on a single test or contest result.
  • Open to every student, in every course — beginner to senior.

What instructors look for

Four pillars of CKSTEM leadership.

Every Leader of the Month is nominated against this rubric. No grades, no leaderboards — instructors simply name the students they've watched embody these habits in class.

Curiosity

Asking why, not just what. Pursuing questions past the easy answer.

Discipline

Consistent effort over time. Showing up even when nobody is watching.

Integrity

Honest work, honest answers. No shortcuts, no AI proxies, no copying.

Service

Helping the cohort, not just yourself. Lifting peers as you grow.

How it works

Monthly recognition, annual celebration.

  1. Instructors nominate

Each month, instructors name one Leader per class — based on what they observe, not what shows up on a leaderboard.

  2. Public recognition in class

Leaders are announced live in their cohort. Their classmates know exactly which habits earned the badge — and how to follow.

  3. One annual ceremony for everyone

At year-end, every Leader of the Month is celebrated on the same stage as our contest medalists and olympiad finalists. One ceremony, one CKSTEM family — character, performance, and persistence all honoured together.

"Every student at CKSTEM has the potential to become a Leader."

Leaders of the Month are not chosen by leaderboard positions — they're chosen by their habits, integrity, and effort. Practice regularly. Stay curious. Complete assignments with honesty. Ask questions actively. True success comes from discipline, curiosity, and integrity — not shortcuts.

Avoid AI tools like ChatGPT during your coursework. The goal is to learn by doing — so that one day, you can outperform AI itself.

Two streams. One CKSTEM.

Leadership Awards celebrate character. Contest medals celebrate performance. Both belong to the same family of CKSTEM achievement.
