The coach
Cerasela Tesleanu
Cerasela Tesleanu is a math teacher at Collège Stanislas Montreal, Canada, specializing in various Math and Algorithmics courses. As a mathematics coach, she has successfully trained gifted students for national and international competitions. She is passionate about the STEAM teaching approach by using math in conjunction with programming and robotics.
She was a mathematics coach in Romania who successfully trained gifted students for national and international competitions. In 2008, four of her students qualified in the Romanian Math Team for the JMBO and obtained Gold and Silver Medals in the same competition.
Cerasela is also a recipient of the Prize of Excellence in Education by the Ministry of Education in Romania in 2007 and 2008 and by the Prime Minister of Romania in 2008.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AMC 10?
The AMC 10 (American Mathematics Competition) is a prestigious math contest run by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). It is the first step in the pathway to the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) and the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
What are the goals of the AMC 10 Prep course?
The course aims to prepare students for the AMC 10 and AMC 12 competitions by building deep understanding in Algebra, Number Theory, Combinatorics, and Geometry — the four pillars of competition math. Students develop problem-solving fluency through structured lectures and weekly practice.
What topics are covered?
The course covers 18 lectures across four areas: Algebra (proportions, polynomials, complex numbers, sequences, exponentials), Number Theory (divisibility, Pythagorean triples, modular arithmetic), Combinatorics (counting principles, permutations, binomial theorem, coloring patterns), and Geometry (congruence, similarity, trigonometry, circles, mass points).
What is the course format?
18 online classes, each 120 minutes. Sessions run on Fridays and Saturdays at 9 AM ET. Students receive weekly practice tests and assignments between classes.
How much time do I need for assignments?
Students should expect to spend 2–3 hours per week on practice tests and assignments outside of class. Consistent practice is key to competition readiness.
How many students are in a course?
Class sizes are kept small to allow for individual attention and active participation during problem-solving sessions.
How can I use the scholarships I won in CIC?
Scholarship winners from the Canadian Innovation Contests can apply their scholarship credits toward CKSTEM course fees, including the AMC 10 Prep course. Contact info@ckstem.org for details.
Do you support families with financial constraints?
Yes. CKSTEM is a registered non-profit and we believe financial barriers should not prevent talented students from accessing quality education. Contact info@ckstem.org to discuss your situation.
Ready to enroll?
AMC 10 entry is included with most CKSTEM Math Problem Solving courses. Standalone registration available on request.
