HKIMO Heat 2026 Results
Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad — Heat Round 2026
The Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) is a prestigious international mathematics competition organized out of Hong Kong. It draws thousands of students from over 15 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, and the Americas each year. The contest runs in two stages: the Heat Round (selection and qualification) followed by a Global Final for medal winners.
HKIMO tests mathematical reasoning across number theory, algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and logical problem-solving. Questions are designed to challenge students beyond standard curriculum, rewarding creative thinking and precision under timed conditions.
Canada’s HKIMO Heat 2026 results reflect another year of outstanding performance. Of the 58 Canadian students who competed, 56 earned awards — a 97% winner rate. Gold medals surged from 15 last year to 21 this year, a 40% increase that speaks to the depth and preparation of this cohort.
