Empathy, Recognized.

In 2026, students across the country explored what it means to understand one another — through art, code, math, public speaking, science, and writing. Below are the medal recipients of the Canadian Innovation Contests and of the partnered Global Olympiads, on the year's theme of Empathy.

About the Program

What Is CIC?

The Canadian Innovation Contests run six annual contests for students in Grades 2 through 10 — art, computing, mathematics, public speaking, science, and writing. Each year a single theme shapes every submission. In 2026, that theme was Empathy: the capacity to understand and share the feelings of another. CKSTEM also partners with seven Global Olympiads — HKIMO, TIMO, BBB, MOEMS, and CNML — to give students international stages for their math work. Across both programs, 358 students earned recognition at 97 schools.
