Privacy Notice

The short version

We collect what we need to run the program: name, email, phone, child's grade, and (for enrolled families) payment details handled by Stripe.
We never sell or share your data with advertisers. Period.
We use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use this site — page visits, button clicks, form submissions. We don't use Facebook Pixel or any other tracking service.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. [email protected].

What we collect

From parents and guardians: name, email, phone, mailing address (only if you choose to provide it), and the grade and first name of your child.

From students enrolled in courses: first name, grade, school (optional), Moodle user account on learn.competitivekids.org (login + password are managed by the platform), and contest performance data.

From contest participants (CIC, CIMC, etc.): as required for each contest's registration form; contest results are published with first name + initial of last name + school (if provided).

From families who RSVP to an in-person event: your name and email, the student name(s) and grade(s) of those coming, and what you'd like to do at the event. Student names let us match you to your records — and if you are collecting an engraved contest medal, the name as registered is what lets us bring the right one. Optionally a phone number, rough arrival time, party size and any note you add. The RSVP list is deleted 30 days after the event, automatically (notification emails to our own team may persist in our mail records). Ask us at any time and we will remove yours sooner.

We use Stripe for payment processing. We never see or store credit-card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to that data.

How we use it

To deliver the program you enrolled in (course access, contest registration, instructor communication).
To respond to your questions when you contact us.
To publish contest results in the format described above.
To send transactional email (registration confirmations, schedule changes, contest results).

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, ever.
We don't share it with advertisers, marketers, or third-party data brokers.
We don't run third-party advertising pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no remarketing tags). Google Analytics data is used only to improve our website.
We don't publish a student's full name without explicit parental consent.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Show you what we have on file about your family.
Correct anything that's wrong.
Delete your account and associated data.
Withdraw consent for contest result publication.

Cookies & analytics

This marketing site uses Google Tag Manager (GTM-53DN5KL) to load Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. We use this data only to improve our website — we never use it for advertising, remarketing, or sell it to third parties. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

The Moodle learning platform (learn.competitivekids.org) sets a session cookie required for login. Stripe (used at checkout) sets cookies under its own policy.

Children

We knowingly serve minors. All enrollment is done by a parent or guardian. We follow PIPEDA (Canada's privacy law) and applicable provincial regulations for handling student data.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice in a way that materially affects what we do with your data, we'll email enrolled families and post a banner on this page for 30 days.
